Christmas Trip 2014

This year for our Christmas trip we went to Colorado for a couple of days.
We were on a bit of a tight budget because Mike still doesn't have a job.
There have been so many blessings come to us though and we were able to figure out
something to do that would be fun and still within our limits.

Through some searching around I found out about Glenwood Springs
We looked into it and decided to try it out, and some things just fell into place for us.

We left for Colorado on Sunday afternoon so that we could get to our hotel
and have the full day on Monday and Tuesday to enjoy there.
For dinner on Sunday evening we had packed sandwiches so
we wouldn't have to buy dinner on the Sabbath.
I'm glad we did that.

On the way there...random picture, but I like it.
They were all very interested in something :)
After breakfast our first stop was Glenwood Hot Springs
 We loved it there!
The water was awesome.
The kids had fun bringing snow in and just watching it melt super fast.
After the Hot Springs we got some lunch and went back to the hotel and just relaxed a bit.
We watched some tv, kind of got addicted to Top Gear :)
I started and finished crocheting a hat for dallin. I think I probably should've
made it a little bigger, but he likes it so I guess it's ok.
We went to Chili's for dinner and had a nice time.
We looked over some of the pictures from the hot springs and had everyone
try and come up with a good caption for one of them.
That was pretty much our first day of fun.

On Tuesday morning Mike made hot chocolate for everyone and that hit the spot.
Then we packed up and checked out of the hotel early and drove to our next destination.
We spent the day at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
We had another blessing getting our tickets for the park.
The Alpine Coaster was closed so we got a discount and she
also gave us a military discount. We have just seen so many little miracles lately!
Anyway, the Adventure Park is all the way up a mountain, I think it's called Iron Mountain.
We rode a sky tram thing to get there.

It was so beautiful up there!

It wasn't very crowded which was nice.
We did both cavern tours.
Here is a picture of what the tour guide called "cave bacon"
we all thought it was a pretty good name for it.
Here we are at one of the exits from one of the tours.
What a beautiful view!
Waiting for one of the tours to start Noah and Dallin had a nice little snowball fight :)
Played laser tag.
Did the zip-line chair thing, so fun!
Had a yummy lunch at their little cafe,
and played some chess.

Rode the Alpine Coaster... it opened up right as we were about to leave.
It was a great ride, but so so cold!
We really just had a lot of fun.
We would recommend it as a vacation spot for sure!
