18 Years Going Strong!

We had a wonderful day celebrating our anniversary.
When Mike asked me what I wanted to do for our date, it was easy...

I asked him to take me to the BYU Ballroom Dance company performance.
They have this every year right around our anniversary...just for us, ha ha!
On our way there.
It was so good! I absolutely love watching these talented dancers!!
It's especially fun to watch our friends Jessica Kirkham and Kayci (Kirkham) & Casey Treu

(We even lucked out and got to visit with Tracy and Paula Kirkham after the show for a few minutes)

They are amazing! So amazing!
In fact you should check out Kayci & Casey"s facebook page

Oh, before we got to BYU for the show we visited the two apartments we used to live in when we were first married.
Our first address
 Our second
 We were the top apartment.
I remember those stairs very well!
Anyway, after the show we went to the temple.

We did sealings and it was particularly special because we were able to do the sealing for Mike's maternal grandma and grandpa. Now they kind of share an anniversary with us :)

We went to dinner at Red Robin (because we had a gift card and felt like it).
We beat the dinner rush and had a great dinner and got in and out pretty quickly.

Then we went to Cold Stone for a treat. Yum!
(yes we purposefully aimed our spoons to our noses...we are weird!)
Happy Anniversary to us!

Celebrating 17 years together!

We started out our Anniversary celebrations by heading up to Salt Lake City and checking into our room at the Anniversary Inn. We stayed in the Swiss Family Robinson Suite. It was really cool. The bed was in a tree and the shower was a waterfall.

Then we went to Rodizio Grill for dinner. We we able to sit by the window overlooking Trolley Square. We had a delicious dinner...tasty meat, pineapple, pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) and shared a crème brûlée for dessert.

We headed back to the Inn and watched Thor 2 since Mike hadn't seen it.

The next day we started off with our complimentary breakfast, it was perfectly delicious.

Then we noticed that many of the room doors were open and we were allowed to go and look at a lot of the different themed rooms. I think we will go back again, it was fun and different and the staff was super nice!

After checking out we went to DSW and did some shoe shopping. I had been wanting to find some new dress boots, and I was hoping that I'd be able to find some in the clearance section since it's not really boot season anymore. I was so happy that I found several pairs...including a cute pair of purple boots...yes I know I'm ridiculous :)

We had a lovely little getaway together...and we will get more time together too since I get to go with Mike to D.C. when he leaves here. I'm really looking forward to that!

Trip to St. Lucia Day 7, Our Anniversary

Our departing flight was from a different airport so we were able to see some more of the island on the way to Vieux Fort. It really was beautiful. There were quite a few little scenic overlooks, but this one was the nicest I think.

Kind of a funny thing happened while we were stopped here taking pictures. Brother Marquis drove by and saw us so he stopped to visit, then the  DeBeauvilles drove by and stopped also. It was nice to see those wonderful people again before we left...and then we had someone there to take a group shot for us :)
When we got to Vieux Fort we stopped by the branch building there, Dad had to deliver some sacrament cups to them.

Then we ate lunch at a place called Scooby's. More good food :)
Then as we were heading out to go to the airport Dad got a call from the Sister missionaries there. They had a flat tire and they were very close to where we were so we went to help them out before going to the airport. Dad and Mike were their heroes :)

That's a pretty nasty looking tire!

Well, we really did have to leave, so Mom and Dad dropped us at the airport and we said our goodbyes...for now.

Then we spent the rest of our 15th anniversary on airplanes and in airports, hey we were together for the whole day and that was nice :)

*We have to give a big THANK YOU!! to Mike's mom for coming and staying with the kids so that we could go on this trip.

12 Wonderful Years!

Yesterday Mike and I celebrated 12 years of marriage. I thought I would let you in on 12 things I love about Mike. They are in no particular order of course.

1. He is a wonderful father to our children.

2. He's romantic.

3. He tolerates, without compaint, my fascination with the color purple.
4. He is unselfish.

5. He is a hard worker, he doesn't give up.

6. He is a worthy Priesthood holder.

7. He thinks I am beautiful and tells me so regularly.

8. He is so good with people. He can talk to anyone, anywhere.

9. Where I am usually pessimistic, he is almost always optimistic.

10. He hungers and thirsts after righteousness.

11. He serves others with true charity.

12. He loves me and has put up with me for 12 years!
There are so many more things I love about him, but this gives you a pretty good idea about the kind of man I married. I am blessed to have him in my life.
I love you Mike!

11 Years!

Last night we celebrated our 11th anniversary! We had a great night. We ate at a place in Alexandria, Virginia called Mike's American Grill. It was very good. We enjoyed everything from our appetizer to our dessert. After dinner we went to a movie. We saw "Vantage Point" an intense movie, we both enjoyed it, but it wasn't very romantic, ha ha! We were kind of early for the movie so we had some time to relax in the theater and just talk. After the movie I had my picture taken with Patrick Dempsey!Mike took this picture with his cellphone, so it took a while for me to get it onto the computer.
We had a nice time talking and just being together. I'm so thankful for the wonderful man I was blessed with. He is so good to me, and he is a great father to our children.
