Bush Family Reunion 2015

Our family was in charge of the reunion this year,
so we thought it would be a great idea to bring my Dad's backyard carnival.

It was a hit!!

The candy/money dig is always a fun tradition.

A wonderful part of family reunions is getting to catch up with family that I don't get to see often.
I got a picture with my cousin Lonnie and her husband Roger.

I still remember when my sister Jan and I spent a few weeks with them one summer long ago.
We worked in their hardware store and just had a fun time with them.

Fun Family Home Evening Activity

Last night our FHE activity was a lot of fun.
My mom set up a few relay games for us.
One of the favorites is pictured below.
We put a tennis ball in one leg of panty hose and then put it on our head.
Then we had to knock over water bottles with the ball, no hands allowed!
Isaac and Anna starting us off.
Dallin and I going head to head :)

I think Dallin left us all in the dust on the paper airplane relay
We also had a good lesson on journals from Dallin
and Marcy made some delicious blackberry cobbler
(with fresh berries from her backyard). We added some ice cream too!

Later we played 2 dollar basketball
and this cutie was the winner!

Another Chocolating!

I think I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...mostly.

 Dallin opted out this year,
but Leslie convinced him to let her put a little chocolate on his face :)

 Group pictures before clean up!
This is the biggest group we've done this with!

Clean up!

We kept it to just the kids this time
(except my brother Bob who couldn't resist)
because it was such a big group,
and also because all the grownups were going out to dinner right after.
I think a smaller group is better, easier cleanup for sure!

Grandpa's Carnival

My dad is awesome!
He decided to make a backyard carnival for the grandkids.
He made pretty much everything!

I accidentally forgot to take a picture of the bean bag toss sign :(
Everyone loved the prize for this game, you got to keep the bottle of soda!
At every other game they won tickets to spend at the prize store.
 Fun with prizes!
The glasses with the nose were a huge hit!
Grandpa was overwhelmed with the rush of thank yous from the kids!

More Fun at Utah Lake!

Yep, we love playing at Utah lake!
A big thanks to the Daniels for making this happen so much :)
This trip Noah invited his cute girlfriend Janna
and Dallin invited his friend Johnny

I love how I caught this moment when the sails were lined up :)

It was such a fun day!

One thing though...
I ordered pizza for us to eat there at the lake and asked them to do light sauce on 2 of the pizzas, the guy repeated half  sauce, and I said yes, half the normal amount of sauce would be fine.
Well, we ended up get sauce on half of the pizza, ha ha!
...and I have no words for the cutting style of whoever cut this pizza :)

Manti Pageant

On Tuesday we went to the Manti pageant with Joe and Melanie and their kids and my mom and dad.
The drive down was pretty uneventful. We passed a really pretty lavender field...but obviously I was driving so I didn't get a picture of it.
When we arrived we went to get some dinner at a place called Dirk's Farmhouse Restaurant.
The food was good, my only complaint about the place was that they kept it soooo cold inside!
Then it was time to get our seats and wait for the sun to go down so the pageant would start.
While we waited we walked around the temple, checked out the dugout replica, played games, talked, ate snacks, and just enjoyed being together.

Noah took a few minutes to try and teach me the right way to take selfies...
so I would stop taking them like an old person :) (his words)
He totally snatched my sunglasses for this selfie :)

We enjoyed the pageant...mostly :)
I think there were some excellent parts, and I felt the Spirit...but I also think that some of it is super cheesy and is in desperate need of being updated.
Thankfully the drive home seemed shorter than the drive there, an answer to my prayers because I was pretty tired! All in all, I'm glad the we made the trip.
