Bush Family Reunion 2015

Our family was in charge of the reunion this year,
so we thought it would be a great idea to bring my Dad's backyard carnival.

It was a hit!!

The candy/money dig is always a fun tradition.

A wonderful part of family reunions is getting to catch up with family that I don't get to see often.
I got a picture with my cousin Lonnie and her husband Roger.

I still remember when my sister Jan and I spent a few weeks with them one summer long ago.
We worked in their hardware store and just had a fun time with them.

Games on the floor

Something I love to see,
so I had to sneak a picture :)

Lagoon...again :)

The girls and I used our bounceback passes to go back to Lagoon.
Within 10 days you can go back for only 10 dollars...or something like that.
On the train
(seriously the worst ride there, or at least the saddest...
I feel bad for those animals.)

We had a fun time together :)

No Candy For A Year...is Over!

Last year on June 1st I challenged the kids to try and go for a year without candy.
I told them they would get $100 if they could make it.

Everyone except for Anna agreed to try
(Anna said that candy was just too precious to her :) )
I told them if they messed up, then they could start their year over from the day the messed up.
Noah accidentally messed up on June20th when he was at Strawberry days, so he started over.
Grace made it for about a month and a half...but Girls Camp ended it for her.
Isaac lasted a few more months, but decided to end his try as well.
Noah, Dallin and I all made it.
(You might have noticed birthday wishes this year included eating candy, so I guess we each had one cheat day...though to be honest, on our cheat day we only ate one or two things.)
Noah and Dallin were excited to get their $100!
I'm proud of them for completing this challenge!

Below you can see the contract I had them sign.
As you can tell...there were still plenty of sweets they could have.
This was by no means a completely sweet free year!
But, it was still a challenge :)

Clark Planetarium

Another thing on our summer fun list.
I went with my kids, except for Dallin who had plans to see a movie with some friends.
Melanie brought her kids. Blythe and Asher came and my mom and dad came too.
We paired all the kids up as buddies.
Isaac and Henry
 Anna and Julianne
Grace and Maren
Noah and Eve were the cutest buddies.
He was so good with her and they just looked so cute together :)
Everyone loved the big infrared camera exhibit where you could play around with hot and cold plates and see the thermal imaging results.

 Kids on the moon :)
 and on Mars!

Neptune Park

My sister-in-law Melanie and I tried to plan a bunch of activities to do together before we move.
We figured if we actually put them on the calendar then we would be more likely to do them.
We didn't want to get to our moving date and feel regret that we didn't spend more time together.
(We've got several things planned, hopefully we'll get to do them all!)

Anyway, one of our first activities was to go to Neptune Park.
It's in Saratoga Springs and has a 30 foot climbing pyramid.
When it was put in in 2012 it was in the news as being the largest of it's kind in the world.
Not sure if that is still true now, but it is really big!

Anyway, this was a cool park.
All the kids enjoyed it...even the teenage boys!
(and why wouldn't they...they love climbing on things)

Naturally, I took a bunch of pictures...
Don't worry I didn't put them all in this post, but there are a lot! :)

I got a video of Noah, Dallin, Grace and Maren racing to the top

Melanie, Carissa (Melanie's sister-in-law), Me and Blythe.
I was the only mom without a baby...Guess I'm getting old :)
