Trek
Noah and Dallin were able to go on Trek to Martin's Cove and Sixth Crossing in Wyoming.
They left on July 29th and got home yesterday on the 1st.
I've really enjoyed listening to them tell about their time there.
They had some wonderful spiritual experiences that I know they will always cherish.
We heard great reports from the missionary couples who work there.

I feel like it was one of the best testimony meetings I've attended.
The Spirit was so strong and the youth bore powerful witnesses!

Artwork by Dallin
Dallin drew this to give to one of his friends.
I really like it and I'm glad he would let me take a picture of it before he gave it away.

Candy Bomber & Doctor Who
Dallin, Grace and Anna and I went to Scera Park
(along with about a billion other people)
(along with about a billion other people)
to see the Candy Bomber, Gail Halvorsen, make what could be his last drop ever.
He is 94 years old now.
Anna loved reading this book in 3rd grade!

It was really hot!
We didn't get one of the parachutes (just too many people there!)
but we did see the plane :)
Later that day I took Grace and her friends, Audrey and Emma,
to Barnes & Noble for a Dr. Who fan event.
They LOVED it!

No Candy For A Year...is Over!
Last year on June 1st I challenged the kids to try and go for a year without candy.
I told them they would get $100 if they could make it.
Everyone except for Anna agreed to try
(Anna said that candy was just too precious to her :) )
I told them if they messed up, then they could start their year over from the day the messed up.
Noah accidentally messed up on June20th when he was at Strawberry days, so he started over.
Grace made it for about a month and a half...but Girls Camp ended it for her.
Isaac lasted a few more months, but decided to end his try as well.
Noah, Dallin and I all made it.
(You might have noticed birthday wishes this year included eating candy, so I guess we each had one cheat day...though to be honest, on our cheat day we only ate one or two things.)

Dressed up for Service - 50s Style
Our youth participated in a fun service activity with the special needs youth group.
It was a 50s theme activity night.
I think they look great!
Isaac told me that he kept getting compliments all night :)

Dressing up wasn't a requirement, but you could do it if you wanted to.
Dallin went to the activity too, but chose not to get dressed up so he didn't want to be in the picture.

I'm glad that my kids like to serve and help others (usually)
From the report I got after the activity, it sounds like they all had a great time!

Dallin Got His Permit
He had a little fun with the picture I took on my phone.
He wanted to put silly sticker heads on the people in the background :)

Court of Honor - March 2015
So proud of these boys!
Isaac got the first aid and coin collecting merit badges and he got 2nd class and 1st class rank.
Dallin got his Duty to God and Varsity letter and pin.
Noah got a Varsity bar. For some reason Noah escaped getting a picture. I think it's because I took them at home and he didn't come home with us, he went to see a movie with friends.

Happy Birthday Dallin!
15 YEARS OLD!
For his birthday breakfast he wanted a tall stack of homemade pancakes.
Some of his birthday wishes
No chores
Game day
Ride shotgun
Go to Dairy Queen with Mom and Dad
Eat candy (he's still going strong on the no candy for a year)
He didn't go crazy with candy, he just wanted to eat this sucker that his friend
gave him, and I think he had a few other pieces of candy too...but not much.

Leave his water cup in the fridge water dispenser place.
Kind of a funny wish. He says it makes it easier to get water when he wants it :)
Light his birthday candle
Eat in the living room
I had been at my Grandma's house earlier that day with my mom and my sister Marcy. We were cleaning some things out and my mom thought it would be funny for me to take this bunny birthday wreath home and tell Dallin it was a present for him. He thought it was hideous and was only slightly amused :)
He wanted a pizookie from Firebird for his birthday "cake" so we ordered several of them.
I'm not exactly sure what the pose was about in the first picture, but I'm glad I captured it, ha ha!
He also wanted to put his candle out with his fingers - I think that was one of his wishes
One of his cards, his treat and
his book choice by his favorite author
This was his big gift and he absolutely LOVES it!
So glad I could find one that fit him, thanks Amazon!
It's a replica of the jacket that Clark Kent wears in the last season of Smallville
before he dons the iconic Superman outfit.

High Jumping Kids and Comicon Boys!
While I was gone to visit my friend LeeAnn, Noah and Dallin went to Comicon and Mike took Isaac and Anna to Pleasant Grove Promenade. (Where was Grace...I don't know, probably hanging out with friends)
Like I said, Noah and Dallin went to Comicon. They made their own costumes. They are characters from Magik the Gathering...don't ask me what their characters names are because I don't know.
They listened to a band called Bonne Nuit, most of the band members go to our church.
I think they had fun!

Noah even got me a sweet gift.
He met Cary Elwes and got me an autograph! I love it!
Sorry for the blurry picture of it, I'll have to try and get a better shot of it.

High Adventure
Noah and Dallin had a great time on their High Adventure trip with the scout group.
They went mountain biking and repelling among other things.
So glad they had fun!
They both had some good experiences. It was fun to hear them tell me all about their activities.
Noah conquered his fear of heights with the repelling
and Dallin had a lot of fun during the huge foam sword battle that they had.
(Noah went with Dallin's age group because he isn't sure he'll be able to get off work the dates that are scheduled for his age group.)

Great Grandpa's Ties
I've been helping out with some cleaning and stuff at my Grandma's house and my uncles house in Ogden. I was happy to have the chance to get some of my Grandpa Elmer's ties. My boys each wore one to church yesterday. They never got the chance to know him because he died when I was about 14. I always felt a closeness to him though because I was born on his birthday. He was such a great man.
My maternal grandpa George Wilford Elmer.

I think they look great!

End of the year Orchestra Concert
Dallin had his end of the year Orchestra Concert on Tuesday night.
It was a really good concert. They played a lot of fun music.
Dallin's favorite ones to play were the Mission Impossible theme
and the Jurassic Park them.
We went for ice cream after, as usual :)

Spring Concert
Dallin had his Spring orchestra concert last night. He did a great job of course.
After the concert his teacher told all the parents to take their children out for ice cream...so we had to!
I took the kids to Macey's for ice cream cones. Everyone had a Baby Kong except for Dallin, who got the Ultimate Kong...it's huge, especially for only 1.89 :)

Court of Honor
At our troop's court of honor at the end of January both Noah and Dallin received the LDS-BSA Commemoration Award of the Buffalo.
Noah also received his bronze palm (which I can't figure out why I didn't get a picture of) except I guess you can kind of see it on his uniform in the above picture, pinned onto his Eagle medal.
Dallin also had earned the Thomas S. Monson award, but he had to wait to actually get the award until last Sunday because they like to award them in the quorums.
We are so proud of all these boys have accomplished and continue to accomplish.
They really are growing into fine young men!
