Court of Honor - March 2015

So proud of these boys!
Isaac got the first aid and coin collecting merit badges and he got 2nd class and 1st class rank.

Dallin got his Duty to God and Varsity letter and pin.

Noah got a Varsity bar. For some reason Noah escaped getting a picture. I think it's because I took them at home and he didn't come home with us, he went to see a movie with friends.

Green with Envy

You know you're jealous of the award Anna got for reading a bunch of the books in the Battle of the Books :) She was so happy to get her own 2L of Sprite!
And you are equally jealous of the awesome cookies I decorated for a St. Patrick's Day treat :)
I think they turned pretty good...some of the shamrocks even look like shamrocks, ha ha!

Black Belts in the Family

I got the privilege of going to Colorado to take some pictures for my sister Michelle
as she and her kids, Zach and Katie, tested for their Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do.
(since she is in the class with them, she rarely is able to get pictures of anything they do)
It was pretty amazing to see how much they had to do
and how well they did it!
They finished very high in the rankings.
Zach was 1st, Shell was 2nd and Katie was 5th.
Shell told Zach that he only outranked her at the dojo, not at home :)
I was really proud of them and enjoyed being there to cheer them on!

Visit From Shirley and Willis and Court of Honor

Yesterday we had a nice visit from Mike's mom and her new husband Willis.
It was so good to see her and to meet him. They seem very happy.

Later that evening we went to a Court of Honor and Isaac received his Tenderfoot rank
Way to go Isaac!

Isaac Got His Arrow of Light

At our pack meeting on April 2nd, Isaac was awarded his Arrow of Light.
This fills up the Cub scout side of my mother's pin ribbon necklace thing :)
He also got some more activity badges, Artist, Family Member, Outdoorsman, Showman and Sportsman.
and another couple belt loops... I can't remember what they were, but I think one was Ultimate.
Anyway, He will move on now and join the 11-year old scouts.
I'm not terribly sad to say goodbye to the cub scouts for a while :)

It was especially nice that Mike was here for this pack meeting.
...and I have to give a  huge thanks to my awesome dad for making Isaac's plaque.

Blue and Gold

On the 5th of February our pack had it's annual Blue and Gold Banquet
It was nice to be able to go there for dinner and not worry about fixing dinner :)

Each boy was supposed to make a flag of any country they wanted.
Isaac chose to make the flag of Qatar
since that's where Mike is.
I was relieved that it was a pretty simple flag, he didn't have any trouble making it.
Isaac was awarded his Communicator and Geologist activity badges.
I cracked up because right before they called the Webelos up,
Isaac took a big bite of his dinner. His cheeks are pretty full!
You can tell in the picture too :)

Way to go Isaac!
You can probably tell that this was the same day as crazy hair day :)

Court of Honor

At our troop's court of honor at the end of January both Noah and Dallin received the LDS-BSA Commemoration Award of the Buffalo.

Noah also received his bronze palm (which I can't figure out why I didn't get a picture of) except I guess you can kind of see it on his uniform in the above picture, pinned onto his Eagle medal.

Dallin also had earned the Thomas S. Monson award, but he had to wait to actually get the award until last Sunday because they like to award them in the quorums.

We are so proud of all these boys have accomplished and continue to accomplish.
They really are growing into fine young men!

Noah gets his Eagle!

Ok, I'm so so so far behind on my blog...
I don't know why, maybe it has something to do with moving
and Mike deploying...maybe :)
Anyway, I'm going to try and get caught up and then
hopefully I'll be able to keep it up!

Noah was awarded his Eagle on July 14th
along with his good friend Nathaniel Sparks.
This is something that he has been working towards
for a long time.
The invitation

The Court of Honor
I got to pin on Noah's Eagle medal

Noah pinning on the mother's pin and father's pin
Noah recognized 2 of his mentors
Lincoln Stevens and Adam Sanchez

We couldn't be prouder of this fine young man!

It was fun to share this special night with the Sparks.
 Nanette and I

Isaac gets his Bear badge!

We had our Blue and Gold Banquet on Wednesday
and Isaac was awarded his Bear badge.
He also got one gold arrow point and one silver arrow point,
plus a few belt loops...
ice skating, bowling and ski and snowboarding
(he earned the ski and snowboarding a long time ago,
but for some reason it was overlooked and didn't
get awarded until now. )
We are so proud of you Isaac!
Keep up the good work :)

New Beginnings and Court of Honor

On Wednesday the 30th I went with Grace to New Beginnings.
I can hardly believe it!
While it seemed a little strange at first that she will be joining the Young Women this year, it really was exciting too.
The Young Women put on a nice program and helped to explain each of the values to the girls who would be turning 12 this year.
They had cupcakes decorated for each of the values.
Here she is with a virtue cupcake :)
Each of the young girls also received a special necklace.

Grace was so excited to get hers and I can tell that she is really looking forward to joining the Young Women organization when she turns 12.

That same night there was a Court of Honor.
Dallin was awarded the horsemanship merit badge.

He really had a good time earning it.
Noah received the personal management merit badge
and the camping merit badge.
I also was surprised by an award that Mike arranged for me to be given.
I was awarded the Shield of Service from our District.
I wasn't expecting it and was a little caught off guard, but it was nice to be recognized for what I have done with our Cub Scouts :)
