Mini Baking Camp at Cravings

We love Cravings Alisha's Cupcakes!
We saw them on Cupcake Wars :)
The first time they were on they didn't win, but then they came back in Season 7 and won!
(We also LOVE Cravings Bistro and their delicious grilled cheese sandwiches
...but this post is about cupcakes)
I signed Grace and Anna up for a 2 day mini baking camp there and they loved it!
 End of the first day.

End of the 2nd day (and last day.)
Grace and Anna with Alisha and Alisha's daughter, who wanted so badly to be in the picture too.
And also Alisha's assistant who helped with the classes.
The girls had a great time and came home with some tasty treats :)

I Love My Sisters!

I love it when we all get to be together.
There is something special about being sisters :)
I also have 4 sisters-in-law that I love dearly!
I would love it if all of us could do a sisters trip sometime.
Maybe someday :)

Time with Jan

I spent the day at dialysis with Jan today.
She wasn't super happy, who would be? Dialysis isn't fun.
We tried to lighten things up and be a little silly anyway.
...and I have to say that her neck brace reminds me of BYU :)

I love her!

Black Belts in the Family

I got the privilege of going to Colorado to take some pictures for my sister Michelle
as she and her kids, Zach and Katie, tested for their Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do.
(since she is in the class with them, she rarely is able to get pictures of anything they do)
It was pretty amazing to see how much they had to do
and how well they did it!
They finished very high in the rankings.
Zach was 1st, Shell was 2nd and Katie was 5th.
Shell told Zach that he only outranked her at the dojo, not at home :)
I was really proud of them and enjoyed being there to cheer them on!

Girls Night Out!

My sister Jan just moved here not long ago from Georgia.
For her birthday (on the 17th) we decided to spend some girl time.

We went and did mani-pedis and then went to Cold Stone for a treat. It was a fun night.

Can you guess who's feet are who's?
You can chose from me, my mom, Jan, Marcy, Shannon, Blythe and Melanie
I guess it would be pretty hard if you don't know all of us.

Answer: (From top middle and then clockwise) Me, Shannon, Jan, Melanie, Mom, Blythe and Marcy.

Day Trip to Evanston

When I was about 12 or 13 my sister Jan and I spent a summer in Evanston Wyoming.
We lived with our cousin Lonnie and her husband Roger Cazin,
and we worked at their hardware store.
Since my dad is the youngest of 8 children, and his next sibling
is about 8 years older than him, most of my cousins on my dad's side of the family
are quite a bit older...many of them are older than my dad :)

Anyway, on the 3rd of October while my sister Jan was out here visiting from Georgia,
my dad, Jan and I took a trip to Evanston.
The hardware store has change A LOT since we worked there.
It's very different. It's more of a Home Goods store now.
We had fun looking around the store and visiting with Lonnie and Roger.
My Dad even bought me my birthday present while we were there.
We found a pretty purple glass cake stand :)
(I didn't get to have until my birthday though)

We also had a nice lunch with them.

The drive was fun too, just spending time with Jan and my Dad,
my Dad is not above being silly...he's a good sport too!
I also enjoyed looking out the window at the beautiful scenery :)
