At our pack meeting on April 2nd, Isaac was awarded his Arrow of Light.
This fills up the Cub scout side of my mother's pin ribbon necklace thing :)
He also got some more activity badges, Artist, Family Member, Outdoorsman, Showman and Sportsman.
and another couple belt loops... I can't remember what they were, but I think one was Ultimate.
Anyway, He will move on now and join the 11-year old scouts.
I'm not terribly sad to say goodbye to the cub scouts for a while :)
It was especially nice that Mike was here for this pack meeting.
...and I have to give a huge thanks to my awesome dad for making Isaac's plaque.

Blue and Gold
On the 5th of February our pack had it's annual Blue and Gold Banquet
It was nice to be able to go there for dinner and not worry about fixing dinner :)
Each boy was supposed to make a flag of any country they wanted.
Isaac chose to make the flag of Qatar
since that's where Mike is.
I was relieved that it was a pretty simple flag, he didn't have any trouble making it.
Isaac was awarded his Communicator and Geologist activity badges.
I cracked up because right before they called the Webelos up,
Isaac took a big bite of his dinner. His cheeks are pretty full!
You can tell in the picture too :)
Way to go Isaac!
You can probably tell that this was the same day as crazy hair day :)

Cub Scout Day Camp 2013 - Wild West Adventure
I got to go with Isaac
(and 9 other cub scouts)
to Cub Scout Day Camp again this year.
This year the theme was Wild West.
I made shirts for our boys again, I think they liked them :)
Here are some pictures from our fun time.
Archery
Isaac was actually more excited than he looks when he hit the yellow area!
BB-Shooting
Fun on the lake
Craft time
Fishing
Isaac caught a fish all by himself...with no bait
Some might say that, by the size of the fish,
he actually caught bait :)
He was excited though!
He loved riding the horses
He and I worked on a captain america logo in the leather working area
Fun at the Pool
and slingshots
and throwing hatchets
More fun!
Silliness in the van on the way home...
We had a lot of fun with these boys!

Isaac gets his Bear badge!
We had our Blue and Gold Banquet on Wednesday
and Isaac was awarded his Bear badge.
He also got one gold arrow point and one silver arrow point,
plus a few belt loops...
ice skating, bowling and ski and snowboarding
(he earned the ski and snowboarding a long time ago,
but for some reason it was overlooked and didn't
get awarded until now. )
We are so proud of you Isaac!
Keep up the good work :)

Pinewood Derby 2013
Isaac's car design this year was a lightning bolt.
He wanted it to be green and purple.
Mike did a great job cutting it and Isaac and had fun painting it.
I helped a little with the painting, but he did most of it.
Isaac won a couple of races and had a pretty good time.
Next year will be his last one
(not that I'm counting down or anything ha ha!)

Cub Scout Day Camp 2012 : A Pirate Adventure
I went to Cub Scout day camp with Isaac last week.
This year it was a Pirate theme!
ARRRR!
ARRRR!
Isaac had a great time
and I enjoyed spending the week with him and the other boys.
He made variety of things including
and I enjoyed spending the week with him and the other boys.
He made variety of things including
a bearclaw necklace, a treasure chest
an indian headband
and a catapult
Indian village
Archery
BB guns
Tomahawk throw

He also did the slingshots, but I didn't seem to get a picture of him doing that :(
We enjoyed some time on the paddleboats...
I picked the worst day to forget my sunglasses
Kickball and other games
Digging for buried treasure
Playing in the pool
One of the young men in our ward works at the campIsaac loved seeing him everyday, he ran the slingshot range.
He even ate lunch with us most days.
Our group of boys
I made shirts for them
(I knew it would be easier to keep track of them this way...
and it just always makes them feel more together I think.)
The back of each shirt said Captain (and then the boy's name)
you can kind of see that on the bb picture and the games picture.
I had fun making them and they seemed to really like them.
It was a pretty fun week!(it was also pretty exhausting!)
It's hard to believe that next year will be his last year at day camp
...and mine too I guess!
I really do love hanging out with my kids.

Raingutter Regatta
Last Wednesday for pack meeting we had a Raingutter Regatta.
Isaac was excited to participate. He came up with the idea for his boat on his own and then I helped with the drawing and outlining, but he did most of the painting and coloring in. Mike helped with sanding and adding the rudder and keel. We had a good time working on the boat with him.
It was funny because when Isaac was trying to come up with a name for his boat while he was working on it, he first thought of Poke boat...but then we laughed because that sounded like a slow boat. He ended up deciding to call it the Pika boat.
The boys with their boats
(We do actually have quite a few more boys in our pack, but this just ended up being a week when many of them were out of town or had other plans.)
They used straws on some of the heats and just blew on the other ones.
In Isaac's first race, he was blowing on the boat instead of the said...
once he figured it out, he did quite well coming in 2nd place overall.
After the boys raced, they got to race their siblings.
Grace's hair trailed in the water as she blew :)
It was a nice pack meeting and Isaac had a great time!
I personally prefer it to the Pinewood Derby.
It seems that the success of the boat really rests on the boy and how he blows
rather than on how well it is engineered...and there are no wheels :)
