Lacrosse

Noah made the PGHS Lacrosse team and started conditioning with them and quickly got shin splints and achilles tendonitis in both legs. Poor kid. He had to be on crutches for a little while and missed a lot of practices and even some games. He really didn't get to participate like he wanted to. I know he was bummed about all of that.
Anyway, I made him let me take a picture of him in his uniform before he had to turn the jersey back in at the end of season banquet.
Hopefully next year will be better, if he choses to play again.

Cub Scout Day Camp 2013 - Wild West Adventure

I got to go with Isaac
(and 9 other cub scouts)
to Cub Scout Day Camp again this year.
This year the theme was Wild West.
I made shirts for our boys again, I think they liked them :)
Here are some pictures from our fun time.
Archery
Isaac was actually more excited than he looks when he hit the yellow area!
 BB-Shooting
Fun on the lake
 Craft time
 Fishing
Isaac caught a fish all by himself...with no bait
Some might say that, by the size of the fish,
he actually caught bait :)
He was excited though!
He loved riding the horses
He and I worked on a captain america logo in the leather working area
 Fun at the Pool
and slingshots
and throwing hatchets
More fun!
Silliness in the van on the way home...
We had a lot of fun with these boys!

We did Nutten for Christmas

...nutten much, just ski, snowboard, play in a waterpark, play games, watch movies, eat food, hang out, have fun at Le Club, etc.

This year for our Christmas trip we went to Massanutten.
Our good friends the Chwaliks own a time share there and invited us to join them for the week.

We had a great time!

On the slopes
This was the first time skiing/snowboarding for Mike and the kids....and it was the first time for me in over 24 years. Everyone enjoyed it and I think we will definitely be doing it again.
 The Waterpark
The day we chose to go to the waterpark was a rainy day, so it was a good choice. We had a lot of fun!

The flowrider was a new and fun experience for all of us

Other Fun

Some of the best times we have are when we play games and just hang out together.

A big thanks again to our friends the Chwaliks for their kindness and friendship :)

Bowling Fun

Yeah, I'm waaaay behind on my blog. Things have been very busy, but it's really been bugging me, so I'm going to start trying to get caught up!

Way back in August we had a camping trip planned right before school started...but as I said in a previous blog post...Hurricane Irene had different plans for us. So to help make it up to the kids we tried to do some fun things.

On Thursday August 25th we took the kids to the mall for dinner and let them each choose what they wanted to eat. We don't do that very often so it was a treat.

That night we rented some movies and I made oven s'mores. While we ate our s'mores we sat around a pretend campfire in the kitchen and told silly stories...it was a lot of fun and we had some good laughs!

The next day we took the kids bowling! We had a great time.

All in all, I think we made up pretty good for the postponed camping trip (I'm glad it's just postponed and not cancelled!)

Paintball

Several months ago Noah saved up money from mowing lawns and other odd jobs to buy a paintball gun. Mike decided to buy one too so that Noah would have someone to play with...that's just the kind of dad he is!

Here are some pics of their most recent outing. They went to President Volk's house and had a great time with him and some other adults and young men.

Play Ball!

I signed all the kids up for baseball this fall...yes, I have officially lost my mind!
The season ran from August 28th to October 30th. Mike was gone for a lot of that time. At least some of the kids were on teams together so that made it easier.

Our teams were
The Phillies - Noah and Dallin
The Shorebirds (machine pitch) - Grace and Isaac
The Athletics (t-ball) - Anna

Actually, it was pretty crazy, but it was a lot of fun and good times too.

Here are some pictures from the season.
Enjoy!
