Field Day 2015

I volunteered at Field Day again this year.
I wasn't sure what I'd be doing, but I got to be at the parachute station with Mrs. Kordsieman.
I was able to snap a few pictures of Isaac and Anna when their classes came through.
Since I was at this station though, I didn't see them doing anything else, but I know that they had fun!

Aladdin!

The 6th grade play was Aladdin Jr. this year.
I helped direct again and had a great time working with the kids.
Isaac was one of the narrators and he did a wonderful job!
The wonderful 6th grade teachers that I get to work with.
Some onstage shots
Offstage fun

Me with some of the leads
Noah had already purchased comic con tickets for the weekend
so I had him come and watch the school performance on Thursday.
The rest of the family saw it Friday night.
Grandma and Grandpa Bush and Holden came to see it too.
We treated him to a blizzard and some fries for all his hard work!

Beauty & the Beast

I volunteered to help as a Director for the 6th grade play at the elementary school.
(I also helped a little with the costumes)
They did Beauty & the Beast this year.
The cast and crew with their teachers.

It required a lot of my time and patience. There were times when I didn't want to go back, ha ha, but for the most part it was a great experience. The kids were very well-behaved, mostly and eager to participate.

Grace played the part of one of the girls who fawns over Gaston. Her official part in the program was listed as Silly Girl #4.

She had a lot of fun being a part of the play and she told me that she wants to do more...kind of makes me happy that one of my kids is interested in something I was interested in school.
Grace with a couple of her friends on the set crew, Julianne and Alora
Grace and her friend Grace who played Babette (the feather duster)

Anyway, after months of after school practices, the 2 amazing 6th grade teachers, a lot of awesome parent volunteers, and hard-working 6th graders, we were finally ready to perform.
They did 2 performances on February 11th, one during the school hours for all the students, and one that evening. I actually had my family come to the one during the day. I even got Noah and Dallin out of school so they could see it. Then that night Noah and Dallin went to scouts so Anna and Isaac came with me.

Grace did a fantastic job, all the kids did!
I was so proud of them and how hard they had worked.
It was so sweet of them to call me up on stage after the show and give me a beautiful bouquet of roses.
Our Belle
Our beast
I gave Grace a little bouquet of flowers after the show too.
After the evening show I took Grace out for a milkshake at Chick-fil-A. Yes, we were celebrating her awesomeness :)

Mike helping at the Jamboree

Mike had the opportunity to volunteer at the National Scout Jamboree. He worked with the Merit Badge Staff in the Genealogy and Family Life area.
He had a great experience and enjoyed helping out.

While he was there he earned the
George Albert Smith Award.
On the back it says, "The pathway of righteousness is the highway of happiness, don't lose your way."

He also got a few of these cool patches.
Mike had a good time and we are looking forward to next week when Noah gets to go for a day.

Field Day!

I volunteered to help out for both field days this year (seriously should have my head examined! ha ha!)

Thursday was Dallin's field day and it was brutal. It was so hot and humid out, but the kids still seemed to have a good time. The popsicle station was definitely a favorite!
Today was Isaac and Grace's field day. I helped with Isaac's class. The weather was so so much better, overcast and only in the seventies with a light breeze.
The kids all had a good time and I loved watching them interact with their friends and their teachers.
PreK lets out before field day was over, so Anna got to join us and lucky her, she was right in time for popsicles on both days!
